How to make the easiest and most inexpensive superfood......Bone Broth!

The use of bone broth goes back hundreds of years.  Nothing ever went to waste on an animal.  The bones were boiled for stock, hides were used for clothing, all the organs were eaten.  You get the idea.  

Without all the fancy science we have today telling us the nutritional content in things, people instinctively knew how good this broth was for them.  In terms of health, it literally is liquid gold.  Here’s why...

Bone broth is loaded with vitamins and minerals
 like calcium and magnesium that are easily absorbed by your body.  Together, these vitamins and minerals help support your immune system and bone health.

It’s also loaded with amino acids
 like glycine, arginine, proline, glucosamine and chondroitin.  Lots of fancy words...but these will help you sleep more soundly, calm inflammation and help heal painful, achy joints.

To get all the health benefits of bone broth, it’s important to consume this stuff on a regular basis.  ½-1 cup/day is generally recommended.  It is also a perfect base for soups or any other recipe calling for broth.

On average, we eat about a chicken/week so I can make sure we have a steady supply on hand.  One night per week I’ll cook chicken as the main entree then I make another meal with the leftover chicken and THEN I take the leftover bones/carcass and make broth...talk about getting the most bang for your buck!
